North Coast Walks
Interesting Walks around the NorthCome by the hills to the land where fancy is free,
Stand where the peaks meet the sky and the lochs meet the sea,
Where the rivers run clear and the bracken is gold in the sun,
And the cares of tomorrow can wait ‘til this day is done.

Taking on the North, One Walk at a Time
This website describes a selection of walks in the far north of Scotland. Our area is bounded on the west by the River Naver and on the east by the River Halladale. There is a narrow, thinly populated northern coastal fringe but south of this is one of the last remaining areas of true wilderness in Europe. The mixture of hill, moor, coast, estuary, beach, cliff, mochair and loch has a diverse and unique flora and fauna, as well as fascinating geological and historical features. The walks have been chosen to offer a variety of length and difficulty, terrain and interest, to the discerning visitor to this lesser known part of Scotland. The area provides a good stopping-off point for those driving or riding the North Coast 500 route. The site also provides some supporting information about attractions, services and amenities.
